In an alternate universe, I can has all the donuts.
Cakes, cupcakes, brownies, muffins, macaroons…bye Felicia.
But, donuts? Come to mama. Nothing says perfection like a fresh, simple glazed donut.
Today is National Donut Day so to get in the spirit of things, let’s make a craft that won’t make our behinds any bigger, shall we? Guilt-free crafting at it’s finest.
How to make a Paper Donut Garland
What you’ll need:
- Card Stock (be sure to choose “donut” colors like pink, brown etc.)
- Circle Hand Punch
- Tacky Glue Stick
- Jute Twine
- Washi Tape
- optional: cute child to help
Cut a few round shapes out of scrapbooking paper. I used an old CD as a template. Make sure you cut the second shape (the “frosting”) a bit smaller, and make the edges slightly wavy.
I helped glue the donuts together while my daughter cut all of the sprinkles.
Admiring her handiwork.
Look, a pile of guilt-free donuts.
String the jute through the holes and hang.
The only hazard with this fun donut craft is you will feel like eating a donut everytime you pass by your garland. Hah.
Happy National Donut day!
